Analysis
Lower Order Thinking

The framework was revised to reflect current teaching and learning in the 21st Century.

  1. Hi Michelle
Great work, Blooms is huge, what do you see are the advantages and disadvantages with Bloom? and how do you think it will help you to construct learning through technology?
Please also see my blog, comments are greatly appreciated to help me "get my head" around the course.

  2. Hi Tanya

    Thanks for the comment.

The way I see Blooms is that it isn’t limited to the classroom or education. It can be used in so many facets of life as it’s based around higher order thinking and questioning. I guess one way to put it is thinking “outside of the box”.

As for challenges….well as educators we have a big challenge… in order to engage students in higher order thinking we have to scaffold our learners through the process. We have to ensure that we ask the correct questions and word them effectively in order for students to evaluate and synthesize (reach the “thinking skill”).

Blooms Digital Taxonomy (found above) outlines how this framework can be used while learning through technology.
